The Floyd County Historical Blog

Entry for July 18, 2006

An abbreviated meeting of the Floyd County Historical & Genealogical Society was held last night. Our President, Nava Jo Austin, was absent due to her husband being in the hospital. There was one visitor, and some time was pent in attempting to anwser some of her questions. She was particularly interested in locating the Conley Cemetery on Little Paint. It was determined to invite a couple of local individuals who are knowledgable in cemetaries to the next meeting.

Does anyone have any idea as too how many family cemetateries are located in Floyd County? How many graves does it take to be a cemetery? 1? 2? or how many?

Would anyone like to comment on historical sites in Floyd County. Are there some little known sites that we are not aware of?
